Manzoor Pashteen has become one of the most influential voices for non‑violent resistance in Pakistan, leading the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) with a clear and unwavering demand for constitutional rights, dignity, and justice for Pashtuns. Hailing from South Waziristan, a region devastated by militarization and enforced disappearances, he transformed the pain of his community into a peaceful mass movement that challenges systemic abuses through civic mobilization, public testimony, and moral pressure rather than violence. Despite facing arrests, censorship, and intimidation from state institutions, including the military and police, responsible for severe harm and human rights violations, Pashteen continues to advocate for truth, accountability, and the protection of ordinary civilians, making him a symbol of hope for thousands of families still searching for their missing loved ones.

Advocacy

We document, report on, and raise awareness about the human rights situation of Pashtuns in Pakistan. Through reports, public events, media work, and collaboration with national and international human rights organizations, we amplify voices that have been systematically silenced.

Culture

We organize Pashto language courses, cultural events, literary evenings, and community gatherings that celebrate and sustain Pashtun identity. We believe that culture is a fundamental dimension of human dignity and a right protected under international law.

Integration

We offer practical, person-centred support to Pashtun individuals and families navigating life in Germany. From German language courses and job coaching to social counselling and civic education, we help our community members build stable, self-determined futures.

The Pashtun Missing Persons Report 2025 documents 4,637 cases of enforced disappearances, including 4,319 Pashtuns still missing, with the crisis overwhelmingly concentrated in South Waziristan (3,483 cases) and the wider Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. It shows that state actors, primarily the Pakistani Army (2,362 cases) and intelligence agencies (1,637 cases), are consistently identified by families as the alleged perpetrators. The data reveal a long‑running, systematic pattern of abductions targeting ordinary civilians such as laborers and students, underscoring an urgent need for accountability.
